Overview

The Fiscal Services Department is a support department that handles the record keeping of financial transactions – revenues and expenses – for Buena Vista Charter Township.

The Fiscal Services Department reconciles all of the Township’s checking accounts on a monthly basis. We prepare monthly revenue and expense reports for the manager and department heads. Other reports are prepared on an as needed basis for our customers. Our customers include the manager, department heads, fellow employees as well as the public and vendors. We process accounts payable on a weekly basis. The deadline for getting bill paid is on Friday at 1:00pm with the checks being mailed by the following Wednesday. We prepare the payroll and all related reports and take care of the various tax reporting that goes along with it. We work with the township manager and the department heads in preparing an annual budget that is submitted to the Board of Trustees for final approval. The department works with the audit firm of Yeo and Yeo in the preparation of the annual audit.
